Lay Up Operator
Summary of Responsibilities
Perform layup operations associated with the production of inflatable or swellable packers and other downhole tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
§ Operate basic hand tools and overhead crane involved in the lay up operations according to guidelines.
§ Maintain appropriate inventory level of slat material and other layup supplies.
§ Experience with various hand held measuring equipment…. i.e. tape measure, calipers
§ Interpret engineering drawings, engineering specifications and written process procedures.
§ Interpret and follow posted production schedules.
§ Work with labor and materials traceability documentation and guidelines, such as ISO 9001
§ Work with electronic labor reporting / job progress scanning.
§ Other duties as assigned or required.

Requires one-year certificate from college or technical school and/or minimum of five years related experience as outlined above.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and/or complete routine reports.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to work under a minimum of supervision. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings as they pertain to machining of inflatable packers or related downhole tools. This position requires exceptional vision capabilities as outlined in the physical demands listed below.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
